I’ve had a lot of people write to me asking about what I think about my Laurastar Smart U Ironing System, so I put together a little video to show you my favorite features.
It is definitely on the more expensive side, but I’ve never had an ironing system like this and it has changed the way I piece!

I’ve had a lot of emails about where people can locate my new line of basics – Cotton Shot! Cotton Shot has the look of a shot cotton weave, but it is printed on a tight quilting cotton, so it is the perfect choice for embroiderers and quilters who are looking for a bit of texture, but nothing too overpowering.
There are 50 beautiful colors in this line, only some of which as shown above.
Although it is still early days and I’ll have a lot to add to this line in the future, I asked Benartex to send me a list of shops that ordered Cotton Shot directly this month. Keep in mind it isn’t a complete list as I do not have access to distributor information which means that I don’t have access to the names of shops who might have ordered the collection from U.S. distributors or any international orders. It is also early days for this new basics line but at least this is a place to start:
Arizona
35th Avenue Sew & Vac
Sunshine Quilts
Quilt n’ Sew Connection
North Carolina
Creative Sewing Machines
Loving Stitches
Ohio
Heavenly Stitches
Oregon
Quilting Delights
Pennsylvania
Burkholders Fabrics
Utah
Nuttalls
Wisconsin
Sew Smart
If you are a shop, or you know of a shop, that is stocking this line, please let me know so I can add that information! I really appreciate it as I want to support all the shops who are kind enough to support me!
There will be some fun new projects later this year, but in the meantime I’ve adapted some of my existing patterns to this group (see below) and you can find SKU information for them here.
Hope you enjoy sewing with Cotton Shot – stay safe and happy quilting!
Amanda
